Who we are

I Can Make is a team of people with backgrounds in publishing, design, technology and film. Our work has won awards, and we've built products and services used by millions of people worldwide. Now, we are working together to make things that will inspire girls and boys to think, imagine, experiment and create.

Becky Fishman

Marketing and partnerships

Becky has worked in academic publishing and marketing, both in startups and in organisations such as Macmillan Publishers and Oxford University Press. Becky is I Can Make’s marketing, PR and partnerships chief.


Mark Simpkins

Product and project management

Mark has managed large-scale digital projects, including the BBC Games Grid and the Vogue UK iPad app. At I Can Make, Mark is in charge of product development, and organises the team.


Chris Thorpe

Technology

Chris is the former CTO of Moshi Monsters and helped set up The Guardian Open Platform and Government Digital Service. He is responsible for the technology behind I Can Make, and does lots of talks.


Dean Vipond

Design and User Experience

Dean was the interaction designer for the BAFTA Kids – winning Nightmare High, and has worked on other kids properties, for Usborne Books and the BBC. He looks after the brand and user experience of I Can Make.


Helen Steer

Education Specialist

Helen co-authored the award-winning Mission:Explore series and has developed playful educational kits for organisations such as Intel and National Geographic. Helen is I Can Make's Education Specialist.


James Richards

Content

James has worked on film and digital projects for BBC, Open University, and Mozilla. At I Can Make, James is responsible for the direction and creation of the content around our kits, like videos, accessories and activities.
